Surviving and Thriving (in High School and Life)
Many kids struggle with their sense of worth and forget who they really are during high school. For high achieving kids, some get so caught up in the tests and grades that they start believing that they are not good enough if they don’t get accolades from their teachers.
Many adults. I would argue, get caught up in the same thing in the form of appearance, career status, and wealth.
I am extremely proud of my daughter for her boldness in sharing her story and what she’s learned over her high school years. Her message, given this week in front of the students and faculty at her school, is resonating with both her peers and adults. If you have 15 minutes, this is a good reminder to focus on what’s really important, both in the way we show kids’ their value and the way we live our lives as eulogy, not resume, builders.
