Celebrate my Daughter

Today is Day 18 of my Happiness Hacks series.

October 18 is a special day for me, because 21 years ago, my beautiful daughter was born. Today’s happiness hack is celebrating her!

Because she’s away at college, I’m celebrating her from afar today (but visiting tomorrow to take her to dinner!).

The celebration started with an early morning parental duet of “Happy Birthday” sent via text message.

I spent about 20 minutes perusing my favorite photos of us from over the years and found a past and current one to post on Instagram and Facebook. She is one special girl, and I put this message with my photo collage:

“This beautiful soul is 21 today. I’m grateful for her selfless, loving, humble way of making this world better one relationship at a time. Happy Birthday, Meredith!”

Taking time to reflect on and celebrate my important people makes me feel happy.
